General Examination

Your first visit with us is a very important one as it gives us the opportunity to assess your oral health, check your teeth, gums and mouth for risks, and prescribe a personal treatment plan, to look after and maintain your smile for the future. We know that people are nervous attending the dentist, that is why we have made our practice comfortable and inviting, to ensure you feel relaxed. Also, you can be assured that you will leave our practice with a comprehensive assessment, and a treatment plan with costings, so that you have everything you need to make an informed decision.

Our General Examination involves the following:

• Comprehensive examination to properly assess and chart your overall oral health including teeth, mouth and gums
• We will look at your existing fillings to ensure they are robust, and do not need to be replaced
• Oral Cancer check looking at the soft tissues in your mouth, and noting any risks
• Checking the teeth for decay and the gums for gum disease
• Looking at your jaws to ensure your bite and alignment is as it should be and to identify any problems or disease

We recommend that our patients visit the practice at least once per year if possible, as regular visits to the dentist will catch small problems before they become big issues and require extensive treatment.
